ZURICH – The head of UBS’s domestic business, Sabine Keller-Busse, revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how clients interact with their bankers.
During the Point Zero Forum in Zurich, Keller-Busse compared this shift to patients visiting doctors with preconceived notions about their ailments, noting that clients are now using AI to generate ideas before consulting the bank. “In our industry, this will happen as well because with ChatGPT, there is more data available,” she stated. “We have to be aware that our clients are using it.”
UBS has been integrating AI into its services and products, including launching a pilot program last year that provides instant credit to small and mid-size companies, which often require quick access to liquidity. This service streamlines the process by eliminating the need for credit officers for standard products, significantly speeding up approval times.
“It’s just the beginning of what we will see,” Keller-Busse remarked, indicating that more AI-driven innovations are on the horizon for the banking industry.
